This page explains what we collect when you use acorilife.com, why we collect it, who else handles it, and how to get it deleted. We have tried to keep it in plain language.

Who we are

acori is operated by Matheus Aleixo, Rua Colégio Militar, 2780-239 Oeiras, Portugal, tax number (NIF) 298614448. For anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your information, write to [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days.

Under the GDPR we are the controller of the personal data described here.

What we collect

When you request the free checklist

We collect your first name and email address, along with the date you signed up and basic delivery records such as whether the email reached you and whether you opened it. This is handled by Kit, our email provider.

When you buy the Family Command Center

The checkout is run by Lemon Squeezy, which is the seller of record for the purchase. They collect your name, email address, billing address, country and payment details, and they charge you. We never see or store your card number. What reaches us is the order record: your name, email address, country, what you bought and what you paid.

When you visit the site

Our host, Cloudflare, logs standard technical information for every visit, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This keeps the site up and protects it from attacks. We do not use these logs to build a profile of you.

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.

Advertising and measurement

We use the Meta pixel to measure whether our ads work and to show ads to people who have visited the site. It records pages you viewed here and actions such as signing up or buying, and sends them to Meta, which may match them to your Facebook or Instagram account.

You can control ad personalisation in your Facebook and Instagram settings, and you can block the pixel with your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker.

Why we are allowed to use it

  • Your consent. Sending you the free checklist and the emails that follow. You can withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not undo what happened before.
  • Performing our contract with you. Delivering the files you bought and dealing with any problem afterwards.
  • Our legitimate interests. Keeping the site secure and working, preventing fraud, understanding in general terms how the site is used, and measuring whether our advertising works.
  • Legal obligations. Keeping sales and tax records for as long as the law requires.

Who else handles your information

We keep this list short on purpose. Each of these companies processes data on our behalf, under a contract, and none of them may sell it.

Kit (Kit.com)Stores your name and email address and sends our emails. Based in the United States.
Lemon SqueezyRuns the checkout as seller of record, takes payment and handles sales tax. Based in the United States.
CloudflareHosts and protects the site, and keeps short-lived technical logs. Based in the United States.
Google FontsServes the typefaces, and receives your IP address when your browser loads them.
MetaReceives pixel events for advertising, if you accept the pixel. Based in the United States.

We may also share information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.

Where your information goes

The companies above are based in the United States, so your information is transferred outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, on the EU to US Data Privacy Framework where the company takes part in it, or on both.

How long we keep it

  • Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you, and then removed from Kit within 30 days.
  • Order records: kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which in Portugal is 10 years.
  • Server logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short period, typically a matter of days.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable file. You can also object to how we use it, ask us to restrict it, and withdraw any consent you gave. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and using it stops the emails immediately.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will not charge you and we will not make it difficult.

If you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In Portugal that is the CNPD (cnpd.pt).

Cookies

The site itself does not use cookies to track you. The advertising pixel described above does, and it is only switched on if you accept it. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies at any time.

Children

This site and the product are meant for adults, and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the record.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and the companies listed above hold your data on their own secured systems. No service can promise perfect security, but we keep what we collect to a minimum, which is the best protection there is.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and you are on our email list, we will tell you by email.

A note on what this product is: the Family Command Center is an organizational tool. It is not financial, legal, tax or insurance advice, and it is a map rather than a vault. It asks you to record what exists and where it is kept, never passwords, PINs, recovery codes or full card numbers.
